POSITION                  Engineering Manager

REPORTING TO       CTO

THE ROLE

As we enter an exciting period of growth, we are happy to have an opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead an established team responsible for the installation, management and service of Optimity’s ISP product

DUTIES (amongst others)

  • Management of all field based engineers
  • Day to day management of workload and work schedules
  • Co-ordination between departments to ensure work schedule is completed
  • Personal development plans for all engineering
  • Ensure engineering resource requirements and identify new areas for employment
  • Reporting of activities and streamlining options
  • Co-ordination and management of tooling
  • Responsibility for all PPE and issuing of tools and equipment
  • Management of training for engineering
  • Practice and promote best practice in health & safety
  • Diary support input to ensure engineering resources are met
  • GIS (Geographical Information Systems) support and integration
  • Assistance with the recruitment for your team
  • Co-ordination between departments to ensure work schedule is completed
  • Personal development plans for all engineering
  • Ensure engineering resource requirements and identify new areas for employment.

This list is not exhaustive and the tasks assigned might increase as per company’s needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  •  The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate 3 years’ experience of managing multiple projects in a variety of business environments. Experience of working with SMEs would be preferential.
  • You will possess an understanding of Cisco and Juniper technologies. Experience with Solar Winds monitoring tools would be advantageous.
  • An understanding of Fixed Wireless Access internet supply its’ benefits and installation procedure is highly beneficial.
  • An ideal characteristic would be the ability to think fast and hit the ground running. You will be at the fulcrum of the future success of Optimity and our service promises to our clients.
  • You will have strong people skills and be willing to work closely with other departments as required.
  • A good Network Manager will have the ability to work to deadlines under pressure and be flexible with their time.
